Booking confirmation by the customer

An appointment only becomes binding after the customer actively clicks to confirm

Booking confirmation by the customer is an optional step in which a booked appointment only becomes valid once the customer has explicitly confirmed it via an email link.

How it works

  1. The customer books an appointment
  2. The system sends an email with a confirmation link
  3. Until confirmation, the appointment is considered provisionally reserved
  4. The customer clicks the link → the appointment is finally confirmed
  5. If the customer does not respond within the deadline, the appointment is automatically canceled

Configurable parameters

  • Deadline for confirmation (e.g. 24 hours)
  • Content of the confirmation email
  • Behavior when the deadline has expired (automatic cancellation)

Advantages

  • Reduces no-shows through the customer's active commitment to the appointment
  • Filters out non-binding bookings
  • Saves capacity that would otherwise be lost to customers who do not show up
