Booking confirmation by the customer is an optional step in which a booked appointment only becomes valid once the customer has explicitly confirmed it via an email link.
How it works
- The customer books an appointment
- The system sends an email with a confirmation link
- Until confirmation, the appointment is considered provisionally reserved
- The customer clicks the link → the appointment is finally confirmed
- If the customer does not respond within the deadline, the appointment is automatically canceled
Configurable parameters
- Deadline for confirmation (e.g. 24 hours)
- Content of the confirmation email
- Behavior when the deadline has expired (automatic cancellation)
Advantages
- Reduces no-shows through the customer's active commitment to the appointment
- Filters out non-binding bookings
- Saves capacity that would otherwise be lost to customers who do not show up
