The SMS module sends appointment reminders and booking confirmations by text message (SMS) to the customer's mobile number.

SMS (Short Message Service) is a communication standard for text messages over mobile networks, established since 1992. The first SMS was sent by Neil Papworth (Vodafone UK) on December 3, 1992. SMS uses the signaling channels of the GSM standard and has a maximum length of 160 characters.
