Terms and conditions

Legal basis for every booking contract between provider and customer

Terms and conditions are pre-formulated contractual terms that a provider uses when concluding contracts. In the context of online appointment scheduling, terms and conditions can be included directly in the booking form as a required field: the customer must actively accept the terms and conditions before completing the booking (e.g. by ticking a checkbox).

Typical content of booking terms and conditions

  • Cancellation deadlines and conditions
  • Payment terms for prepayment
  • Disclaimers of liability
  • Data protection notices

Including consent to the terms and conditions in the booking form is legally important, as it can serve as proof that the contract was concluded. In connection with the GDPR, care must be taken to use clear, understandable language and a separate declaration of consent.
