Appointment time

Configurable duration, intervals and buffer times of booking slots

The appointment time is the configurable duration and position of booking slots in the calendar. Every bookable time in the calendar is an appointment time; the system offers a list of freely definable start times per calendar.

Configurable parameters

  • Slot duration: e.g. 30, 45 or 60 minutes, fixed per appointment time or variable per appointment reason
  • Start times: Freely selectable, e.g. 9:00, 9:30, 10:00 or irregular (9:15, 10:45)
  • Buffer time: Automatic break after each appointment (e.g. 15 minutes for cleaning or documentation)
  • Intervals: Every hour, every half hour, every 20 minutes etc.
  • Individual duration per appointment reason: Different appointment reasons can have different lengths, even if they start in the same slot

Example: A doctor has slots at 8:00, 8:20 and 8:40 am. Initial examinations take 40 minutes, follow-up appointments only 20 minutes. The system automatically calculates which slots can be booked for which reason, without allowing overlaps.
