Booking deactivation

Keep the calendar visible but temporarily block new bookings

Booking deactivation is a setting with which the service provider keeps the calendar publicly visible but temporarily prevents bookings. Instead of the booking form, a configurable notice appears, for example: "Bookings are currently not possible. Please call us."

This differs from hiding the calendar completely: the booking page remains accessible and indexable, but no new appointments can be entered.

Typical use cases

  • Company holidays: Customers can view the calendar but only book after the return
  • Maintenance work: System updates or data maintenance without bookings from external customers getting in the way
  • Soft launch phase: The booking page is publicly accessible but not yet released for real bookings
  • Seasonal break: Businesses with seasonal offerings (e.g. outdoor pools, ski schools) block bookings outside the season

Behavior for the customer

  • The booking page loads normally
  • The configured notice appears instead of the booking form
  • Existing bookings are not affected
