Appointment zone

Time range with its own booking rules, prices or availability

An appointment zone is a named time range with its own booking rules. Different zones can have different availability, services or prices. This allows fine-grained control of the calendar without having to create several separate calendars.

Examples of use

  • Medical practice: Monday/Wednesday 9 am-12 pm private patients, Tuesday/Thursday 8 am-4 pm patients with statutory health insurance
  • Gym: Morning and evening slots with different classes
  • Consulting office: Phone consultations only in the morning, in-person appointments only in the afternoon
  • Seasonal offers: Summer zone with extended opening hours, reduced winter zone

Configurable properties per zone

  • Weekdays and times to which the zone applies
  • Permitted appointment reasons (e.g. only certain services can be booked in this zone)
  • Specific price categories (e.g. late evening surcharge)
  • Capacity (how many simultaneous bookings are allowed in this zone)

Appointment zones are closely related to appointment times and blocked times.
